Dr. Machen partnered with Women’s Own Worth (WOW) to help a domestic violence survivor get their smile back. As featured on THV11, Haley Mcham and her family endured an abusive situation and, with the help of the domestic violence support group and the team at Little Rock Family Dental Care, Mcham can take the first step towards a new life with the help of cosmetic dentistry.

WOW is a 501c3 public charity serving Arkansas. Founder Jajuan Archer and fellow board members created WOW to provide resources and support throughout the state for domestic abuse victims and their families.

Would The Real King Tut Please Stand Up

The reputation of Ancient Egyptian King Tutankhamun far exceeded his mortality. Legends of his affinity for chariot racing and the great power he wielded were symbolized by the mountains of walking sticks and chariots that populated his tomb.

King Tut’s grandeur was based on a notion of boyhood strength and power that has since been contradicted by recent reports. Computer-generated imagery based off thousands of CT scans of the pharaoh have pieced together what researchers believe to be an accurate picture of how the pharaoh looked when he walked the earth more than 3,000 years ago.

The polished gold face of which graces King Tut’s celestial sarcophagus is that of fiction. The recent CT scans concluded that King Tut by no means possessed the standard of Ancient Egyptian beauty. His facial features would not have been admired, nor remembered by the history books. A graphic rendering of the Pharaoh paints him with buck teeth that are not fit for a human being of his stature, let alone a king. Additionally, he had a clubfoot and wide hips. These physical features were a result of inbreeding which produced the boy king. (more…)

Meet Dr. Robert Tramel and his staff

Its been a great year of growing and we are continuing to strive to be the absolute best dental office in LIttle Rock.  We’ve got a lot of ground to cover so here we go!

First of  all we want to send out well wishes to Dr. Matt Dover who left our practice in August.  He has  joined a wonderful practice in Mountain Home, AR that will allow him to be closer to his family.  We send our congratulations and best of luck in his endeavors.

Secondly, LRFDC is very fortunate to have added the knowledge and expertise of Dr. Robert Tramel to our dental family.  Dr. Tramel has been practicing in Little Rock for more than 31 years.  He brought along his highly accomplished and professional staff members, Hygienists; Tammy Bateman and Tonya McDaniel along with assistant Michelle Reynolds and his newest addition, Candace Gardner, all of whom look forward to serving you! Speaking of which, Dr. Tramel will be accepting AR Kids pediatric patients beginning October 1.  He accepts most insurances and of course we do offer filing as an office courtesy.  In addition, Dr. Tramel wants everyone to know that he and his staff see patients from 7AM til 3 PM  on Thursdays, so if you are in need of an early morning or lunch hour appointment.
