Who doesn’t want to have a beautiful smile with stain-free teeth? A brighter smile doesn’t just improve the way you look, but it’ll boost your confidence. Thanks to Little Rock Family Dental Care, you can have a brighter smile through the whitening treatments we offer.

Yellow and darkly stained teeth can certainly get in the way of a beautiful smile. Truth is, what you put into your mouth plays a huge role in the color of your teeth. Think about it: if a food or drink can leave a stain on your clothes, it’s very likely it will also stain your teeth over time.

Here is a list of food and beverages that stain your teeth more easily than others:

  • Red and White Wine
  • Soda and Sports Drinks
  • Grape, Pomegranate and/or Cranberry Juice
  • Berries
  • Coffee
  • Soy Sauce
  • Tomato Sauce (including ketchup)
  • Tea
  • Hard Candy
  • Candy
  • Beets

We aren’t saying you can’t have these foods, but it’s important to know the consequences that follow. To prevent having any stains, it is recommended to brush your teeth or rinse your mouth thoroughly after eating the any item from the list above.

Now that you’re aware of what foods to avoid, what about the foods that actually brighten your smile?  It’s a known fact that some fruits and vegetables help clean your teeth while you chew them. Here’s a list of several foods that will naturally help your smile:

  • Apples
  • Cauliflower
  • Onions
  • Hard Cheeses
  • Celery
  • Pineapple
  • Seeds and Nuts
  • Carrots
  • Milk and Yogurt
  • Cucumbers
  • Basil

If you would prefer to not worry about eating specific foods to whiten your teeth, contact Little Rock Family Dental Care today. Our teeth whitening process will whiten your entire smile in one visit. Maybe it’s taking the easy way out, but our patients love it!
